The Vegetable Production System team, called VEGGIE for short, at Kennedy Space Center poses outside of the International Space Station Environment Simulator Chamber #3 within the Space Station Processing Facility. The chamber temporarily houses the VEGGIE facility and VEG-01 hardware. The team is conducting the Simulating Another Science verification test of VEGGIE here on Earth before the unit is flight-certified for use on the International Space Station. VEGGIE is scheduled to launch aboard SpaceX’s Dragon capsule on a NASA Commercial Resupply Services mission.
