Cloudy Skies? You Can Still Watch the Lunar Eclipse!

Cloudy skies over much of the U.S. might make for challenging viewing tonight for the solstice lunar eclipse.

This screenshot shows a view of the skies over Marshall Space Flight Center in
Huntsville, Ala., at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 20. (See Current View)

To help work around the mercurial weather, here’s a list of web sites that are offering live web views. Many of these are located in parts of the country where the weather is clear – and you can still check out the Marshall Space Flight Center Web cam. We’ve had some breaks in the clouds, and we’re hoping for the best as the eclipse time draws closer. Check back on this page throughout the evening for added links. Happy viewing!

Can't see the eclipse in our area due to heavy cloud cover. All links on this page produce errors. Either a 500 error, a 404 error or a log in request, with no sign up available.

I am so excited! Unfortunately the skies are overcast here in Spencerville ON. I am hoping to get a glimpse of the eclipse, so naturally I went to NASA. Happy sky watching everyone!

Hi everyone -- thanks for the comments! Yes, unfortunately the weather is variable here in Huntsville, and right now we have cloudy skies. Hope to have a break in that later tonight, if we're lucky.

I just stepped outside and could see the moon through cloudy skies....it has been snowing on and off today. If it doesn't completely cloud over the eclipse should turn the clouds pink...waaaaay cool. blessed be, all.
