24 hours before the eclipse in Redding Calif there were rainbow between cloud on a rainless day. Some cloud had rainbow colored edges, and some looked more like cotton than clouds. I am David E J Malley

Thanks for sharing this. This is amazing. I am wondering if this would have been as visible if there was no cloud cover? We had some cloud cover here in Boulder, CO but was able to see a good part of the second half before it set over the mountains.

Wow! What am amazing shot. Guess it had never occurred to me what an eclipse would look like from "above." Somehow I thought the shadow would have been darker though.
The folks from the astronomy books are amazing minds. They must use differentials from the class after the last one I took :-)
