Okay, here’s what I got out of the Ferry Flight Readiness Review:
Readiness Poll
From a readiness standpoint, Atlantis has “no constraints to ferry” which means it is ready to transport. The readiness poll, where the team “votes” for whether or not we’re ready to transport had GOs all around the table, so we are GO to bring Atlantis home!
The team is planning to attach the shuttle to the 747 later tonight so I’m going to see if I can get some video or pictures of that.
Flight Schedule
We’re going to leave no earlier than Monday morning. (And when I say morning I mean these guys are not afraid of waking up early, like crack-of-dawn morning.) We don’t have a definite list of stops along the way yet since that will depend on weather.
Weather
Speaking of which, there will be a weather briefing tomorrow at 11:00 am PDT. That will give us a better idea where we’re going to stop along the way and when we’ll arrive in Florida.
More to come later…

Any information available on the departure time for the return flight from Edwards yet? We live in Barstow, CA and would sure like to be outside when Atlantis flies over. I caught one other shuttle ferry flight by accident, and what an amazing sight!!! I have my camera ready this time! Love reading your blog on this .. it feels like we are a part of it. Thanks .. keep up the good work!
I just found your website and I enjoyed your report. I have been a big fan of NASA from the beginning. I remember when a launch would be on network TV for hours and I would watch it from beginning to end.
Thanks for the information.
I live in Houston and hope to get a picture of the shuttle on its way to Florida.
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for good weather and a clear flight east. Looking forward to seeing any pictures or video of Atlantis on her way home.
I am so jealous of you!

So--what are the plans for the morning of Monday, June 1? Would like to know where and when to look before it gets here (near San Angelo, TX, on a line to San Antonio). Time is getting short.
Saw the rig once before, here.
Thanks for your efforts.
This is really cool. I'm fascinated with NASA and this project in particular. I'm so glad NASA is allowing these blogs to happen and for them to communicate real time data to us via social networking. It feels really cool to read these posts and it brings more personality and realism to it then just watching highlights on TV. When you have a good moderator like Mr. Kanigan that shows a little bit of his personal excitment coming out of the experience, it's more enjoyable.
Keep it coming and thanks.
Thanks for all the info Daniel! We want to see the shuttle in Ft. Worth also - wish we had the info in time to plan it!
Thanks for the updates. Great info! We hope to see you over southwest Houston during your flight.
Any idea how far ahead of time we will know where Atlantis will be making stops? I live in East Texas and I know in the past piggyback shuttles have stopped in Ft. Worth, Longview, and at Barksdale AFB. I'd love to see Atlantis up close before the shuttle program ends.
Enjoying the inside point of view - keep it up!
