The Sustainability Summit here at the Glenn Research Center has come to a close, but you can stay 'green' after the Summit with the help of these information resources!

Yesterday's closing Summit activities focused on recycling, sustainability, and green purchasing. Looking for more info on how and where to purchase 'green'? Check out RethinkRecycling.com - this site, produced by the Solid Waste Management Board of Minnesota, explains the benefits of environmentally preferable purchasing, and gives the where and why to buy 'green' for government organizations. You can also check out these other web-based sustainability resources.

Take a look at international perspectives on sustainability found in the eBook Silicon Versus Carbon: Fundamental Nanoprocesses, Nanobiotechnology and Risks Assessment published by Springer in 2009 and available through the Glenn Science and Engineering Library. It is available from the Springer Chemistry and Materials Science eBook collection. Some of the papers included in this title, all of which are part of the Proceedings of the NATO Advanced Research Workshop on Environmental and Biological Risks of Hybrid Organic-Silicon Nanodevices held in St. Petersburg, Russia, June 18-20, 2008, are: “Is “Silicate Life” Possible?”, “Advanced Environment Friendly Nanotechnologies”, “SDP Technology for “Green” Technology of Metallic Reinforced Nanocomposites”, “Nanomaterials Nexus in Environmental, Human Health, and Sustainability”, “Nanotechnoscience as a Cluster of the Different Natural and Engineering Theories and Nanoethics”, “Risk in Decision-Oriented and Self-Changing Society”, and “Evaluation of Sustainability of the Carbon and Silicon Ecosystem: From Nanoparticles to Macroworld”.
