Managers reevaluating Ares I-Y flight test Nov 03, 2009 01:25:04 PM | Constellation
 
Constellation program managers agreed to reevaluate the proposed Ares I-Y flight test during an Oct. 30 Control Board and plan to take the decision up the ladder to management at NASA Headquarters soon. The decision could result in the removal of the Ares I-Y flight from the manifest in order to better align test flights with evolving program objectives.

The three astronauts, joined by a Constellation Program engineer and a team of diving “buddies,” are performing engineering evaluations for next spring’s NEEMO 14 mission. The NASA Extreme Environment Mission Operations 14 was slipped from October to allow the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to complete a safety review of its Aquarius underwater laboratory.

Ares I-X: Let the Stacking Begin... Jul 07, 2009 02:32:05 PM | Constellation
 
Just a little more than a hour ago (Tuesday, July 7) the Constellation Control Board finished reviewing plans for stacking the Ares I-X and agreed to move forward. Plans are in place to begin stacking Wednesday, July 8, in the Vehicle Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center, Fla.

The first images from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, are in. The images were taken along the moon's terminator -- that's the dividing line between day and night -- giving scientists a good look at the topography. It's exciting times.
