Join Our Crew!

Want to be an astronaut? Now is a good time to get your resume together, sort out your references and decide whether you have the right stuff to join NASA’s elite corps of space travelers. For our part, we can offer the world out your window and a new generation of spacecraft and launch vehicles unlike any flying today.

With the International Space Station’s ability to host unique science experiments and journeys to deep space and Mars on the horizon, now is an exciting time to don the blue suit and think about what your voyage into space would accomplish for everyone on Earth! By the way, you don’t have to be a pilot or bring military experience.

Applications for our next astronaut class open on Dec. 14! Visit https://www.nasa.gov/astronauts/ for more information and the requirements.CCP-Same-Crew-BeAnAstronaut_shareable

My name is Tarek Sleem. I am 26 years old and I am Egyptian. I am a Master student in TU Berlin and I am studying energy engineering. y bachelors was in Mechanical engineering from Ain Shams university in Cairo, Egypt.
It is a dream to join a team that shape the future of the human civilization. Staying in one planet is not meant for an intelligent race. But in order to achieve that, efforts and investments from many many scientists, engineers,,,etc has to be made.

I am highly motivated and hoping to gave a chance to prove my qualifications and motivation for joining the future shaping team of the human civilization and can’t wait till the fifteenth December

  10. To whom it may concern,

I am currently and undergraduate student (older/29), but I am interested in pursuing this endeavour. I would like to be an astronaut, at least helping humanity get to Mars and beyond. Can I still fill out an application even though I am not done with school, but obviously will be through my studies by the time NASA launches. I am in a STEM field, just for information purposes and I do intend to go to graduate school.

    Thank-you!

  11. I am 16 years old and just going to turn 17.I love anything to do with space and astronomy.I was a science student and always wanted a diploma in physics n astronomy but due to curcumstances,I had to shift my school due to many reasons and i have totally lost my interest to study anything elser than physics.I would like to go to space, and am not afraid to die there, because really sir,it will be like u made my dream come true.Thank you.

  19. What an amazing adventure and opportunity that would be! Being an Astronaut was the first thing I ever wanted to be and the one thing I’ll hate not getting to be for the rest of my life. I have no qualifications to be one but desire. In third grade I dressed up as Sally Ride because I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

  20. Hello NASA team,

I am a 19 year old with a goal to become an astronaut at some point in my life. I am currently enrolled in a Texas University as a full-time student pursuing my degree in Pre-med biology, with that degree, I plan on pursuing a professional degree in the medical field as a doctor. (specialty is unknown but leaning towards anesthetics, interested in making a human ‘hibernate’ for a possible future flight from Earth to Mars) I am interested in medicine but space is my passion, I believe that with a medical professional up in space as a part of the crew it would be advantageous for both research and the crew’s well-being. I still need a couple of years to finish my education, I am working on trying to have a perfect physical condition since the military fitness test is a big part and trying to understand what mentality a astronaut must have to endure the unbelievable thought of being in space. My role models to inform myself in both physical and mental attributes have been Mike Massimino (Guest at StarTalk radio by Neil DeGrass Tyson), and Scott Kelly. Please, consider responding to me! I do know that I am young and need to complete my university, I would still love to be with contact with NASA! not only will that be amazing but it will be helpful for me because it could guide me in the right direction to achieve my ultimate goal, being an astronaut for the United States.

    Yours truly,
    Rene Resendez

  26. Hello,

My name is Emanuele Ripiccini. I am an Italian particle physicist skilled in particle detector development and also expert in remote aircraft piloting, both outdoor and indoor. Saying that to be an astronaut was my dream when I was a child could be trivial, who has never dreamt to be an astronaut? Now I looking for a new job, more exiting than my actual one, and, as you are looking for some guy to send hundred thousand km away, I said why not? Let’s try! I’ll not delude you. I think to be a very good fit for this position.
I hope you will read this

    Kindest regards,

    Emanuele

  27. dear crewmembers,

  28. Respected officials,
Myself a indian citizen, a computer science engineer recently passed out my graduation. Being a person learning the digital world, working with binary information i have always kept a dream of exploring the space. It is presently not more than a dream because I can not even imagine the feeling of being a different dimension without any gravity. Its a really great oppurtunity for me as a learner, an amature astronomer and a dreamer to see where i am now from miles away. I look at the moon the stars and always imagine how would they look, being nearer to them. I can dedicate myself to become an astronaut as i have always kept astronomy as my passion. I have observed ISS passing over my terrace that was a very good feeling at to be on it is literally being out of the world. I would be highly obliged and see myself as the luckiest person on earth if you select me as an astronaut. I would be helpful through the missons as i am quite comfortable to learn and use new technologies, easily adaptble to new environments and get along with new people. In addition I love our planet so will always use my knowledge for betterment of our society people and most importantly our nature.
I would be thankful if u consider me however what your decision be, i will accept and thank you for giving the chance to the best one you prefer.
    Your’s Sincerely
    Akash Kumar Jha(unleashed shadow)

  30. Sir,
Iam Pavithra from India(Tamilnadu). Its my dream to travel to SPACE. I am doing my B.E. degree in ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. I love travelling to space . In the qualification i found that for becoming as an astronaut i should be a citizen of US but i dont have any US citizenship …can a person who has citizenship other than US is allowed to go to space ? its my dream goin to space and carrying out expirements with my crew and to perform spacewalk..in 2018 i ll complete my BE degree ..i ll be 21then . now i need to learn how to drive jet and planes . if i get a chance of going to space it ll be my life time achievment … i will be the happiest …..things out there has inspired me for many years ….i need to expirence zero gravity and weightlessness in space ……i wish i ll be one among the members in mission to MAR’s ……. iam an ECEengineer but my interest in space is making me to learn new things about space …….
    thank you.

  33. Dear Sir/Maam,

I am really interested to join Commercial Crew Program. I have taken the basic an aircraft maintenance engineering training program at Republic of Korea Air Force and BCIT Aircraft Maintenance Engineering M program.
I am working at one of the famous commercial airline as a line maintenece mechanic since November 2014. Furthermore, I have serviced in Korea Air Force as F-5E/F aircraft mechanic over 7 years. Despite Korean transitional, I was in charge of aircraft maintenance unlike other ordinary female soldiers who usually work in the office. This was because I had a dream to be the best mechanic. So, I became the very first female in Korea who achieved FAA A&P Mechanic and Dispatcher license same time in 2008. Besides, I enjoy socializing with people, which teach me new thing. Thus I got a Master of Business Administration degree in 2011.
My final aim is a becoming an Astronaut. I would like to be an important person in your program and do my best to be perfect with a calm and delicate attitude, and also do my best to show you my ability and passion.
Thank you very much your time and consideration. I look forward to a favorable reply.

    brgds / Jean

  34. I want to join NASA

    thank you

  36. sir i want to become an astronaut its my aim sir please give me a chance and i can do every thing for this or more mission for nasa please give me a chance

  37. Wow! Fantastic. I really had no idea that “regular” people could apply to be astronauts. I always assumed it would be people from the forces, or those who were already pilots. It is very inspiring to think regular people have a shot. I’m a bit too old for this now, but I’m going to be telling my younger relatives.

  38. Have you ever been in space? Have you ever been in space, on weed!?

    Just kidding..

Beam me up Scotty, I’ll be your test subject for resonance transportation.
