Today’s launch of Orbital ATK’s Antares rocket is postponed 24 hours due to a ground support equipment (GSE) cable that did not perform as expected during the pre-launch check out. We have spares on hand and rework procedures are in process. The Antares and Cygnus teams are not currently working any technical issues with the rocket or the spacecraft.
The launch is now scheduled for October 17 at 7:40 p.m. EDT.
Wonder if we in New York City will be able to see any thing.
It may be possible to see the launch from New York City. The best ability to see it would be from a place with an unobstructed view of the southwest horizon. The maximum height above the horizon Antares will appear to achieve is about 10 degrees. (Three fingers held horizontally at arm’s length is about 5 degrees.) Launch is currently scheduled for 7:40 p.m. tonight, Oct. 17, 2016.

Four, if you are Donald Trump.
I live in Virginia Beach, if we park at the base of the Chesapeake bay bridge do you think we will be able to see it launch from Wallops Island?
If the sky is clear, you have a very good chance of seeing it to the north. Your first sighting should occur roughly one to two minutes after liftoff, and the maximum height above the horizon from your location would be roughly 20 to 25 degrees (looking straight ahead would be zero degrees; straight up would be 90 degrees, so roughly one-quarter the way up).
Good luck. To space and beyond:-)
Could you please tell me I will be watching it from Reading Pennsylvania where to look
The view from Reading would be roughly south and slightly to the east. The first sighting would be roughly 90 second to two minutes after liftoff. Maximum elevation above the horizon: about 10 degrees (the height of your hand held out at arm’s length).
