Orbital ATK has produced a visibility map for the company’s next commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station, scheduled for no earlier than Sunday, Oct. 16, at 8:03 p.m. EDT.

Ability to see the launch may be possible throughout the Mid-Atlantic, depending on location, elevation and local weather conditions.

  1. I see there are two different dates for the Launch, Oct 14 and Oct 16 at 851pm. What is the correct date and time?

    1. Greetings. As of this morning (Oct. 13 at 11:18 a.m.), launch is scheduled for no earlier than 8:03 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016. The launch window was delayed because of Hurricane Nicole’s predicted effect on Bermuda. NASA maintains a tracking station on the island, and the station’s support is a requirement for launches from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility.

    2. The launch was originally scheduled for the 14th but has been storm delayed to the 16th at 8:03pm EST.

  2. I don’t live far from the area of launch. Is there a launch viewing area to see it take off?

  3. I’m in Virginia Beach. The plan is to go out to mount Trashemore and possibly catch a glimpse of the rocket. Any tips?

    1. Find high ground and look to the Northeast. Our window is 8:03 to 8:08. Follow us on Twitter @NASA_Wallops to learn if there is any problem with the countdown.
