Orion Electrical Systems Check Today

orionvertintowerLaunch Complex 37 has been cleared of all but essential personnel today so the battery systems that fire the pyrotechnic elements on Orion can be verified. Launch systems use special bolts to connect stages and fairings together as a full launch vehicle.

Once in flight though, many of those elements have to separate at different points in a mission, so an electrical charge is used to blow the bolts apart. That allows, for example, spent stages to fall away from the rocket while fully fueled stages take over. In the case of Orion, connectors for the fairing over the spacecraft and its connection with the second stage are also held tight using frangible bolts.

  1. SEND THIS TO FLORIDA:

As you know, the basic things that the human body takes out of food are sugar, protein, and fat. The human body is mostly made of sugar, protein, fat, and water. A cheap way to broadcast human life is to… this may seem odd, but it is low cost and practical to broadcast the human or other life from this planet.
All that needs to be done is get sugar, protein, fat, and water and make a smoothie-like liquid of sugar, protein, water, and fat and freeze the liquid as small ice-cubes. Than when in space, use a slingshot to shoot the “life-cubes” into deepspace and maybe one day, new life like ours may be made in deep space from the “life-cubes”.
So the next time an astronauts goes into space, give them a small cooler of “life cubes” and a slingshot so they can shoot the cubes into deep space. The mixture also could be human based. Human blood, sperm, eggs, human fat, muscle and other things could be used to populate deep space with human D.N.A.. Who knows, that experiment may make new life some day in the future.
