A C-17 cargo aircraft delivered NASA’s TDRS-L satellite to Kennedy Space Center’s Shuttle Landing Facility on Dec. 6. The spacecraft then was trucked to the Astrotech payload processing facility in nearby Titusville, Fla., where it will spend the next few weeks going through routine inspections, tests and checkouts designed to ensure it’s ready to fly.
Inside the Astrotech high bay, TDRS-L was removed from its shipping container and hoisted into the vertical position in a work stand. Processing activities kicked off with five days of electrical testing.
