ISS Daily Summary Report – 7/25/2024

Boeing CST-100 Crewed Flight Test (CFT): Today, the CFT crew performed checkouts and measurements in preparation for a future potential CFT undock. They also assisted the ISS crew in NanoRacks Airlock (NRAL) restow operations.

Payloads:

KIBO Robot Programming Challenge 5: Preparation activities and the Robo-Pro Challenge #5 Technical Rehearsal were performed using JEM Camera Robot 2. More information on this experiment can be found here.

ESA Payload Data Router (PLDR): The PLDR was deinstalled and stowed. The PLDR was a Tech Demo with an objective to demonstrate the suitability of the KAM-500© Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) for use during future long duration space missions.

Space Tissue Equivalent Dosimeter (SpaceTED): The crew removed the memory card from the SpaceTED, and transferred the science data to a Station Support Computer (SSC). More information on this experiment can be found here.

Systems:

NRAL Restow Operations: The crew performed restow operations on cargo in the Node 3 endcone following the completed NRAL operations from yesterday.  Previously, the crew had to temporarily unstow cargo from the Node 3 endcone prior to performing the ArgUS 1-1 installs over the last two days.

Butterfly iQ Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) Scans: The crew performed a VTE scan using the Butterfly iQ Ultrasound device. Butterfly iQ Ultrasound demonstrates the effectiveness of a portable ultrasound device used in conjunction with a mobile computing device in the space environment. Such commercial off-the-shelf technology could provide important medical capabilities for future exploration missions beyond low-Earth orbit.

Extravehicular Activities (EVA) Operations: Today, the crew completed multiple EVA activities as part of standard maintenance operations.  The Secondary Oxygen Package (SOP) Check-Out Fixture (SCOF) relief valve was cycled and checked out, which must be done once a year. The five most degraded sets of restraints for each Service and Cooling Umbilical (SCU) were removed and replaced (R&R).  The crew also performed standard Simplified Aid for EVA Rescue (SAFER) Battery operations.
