The weather conditions have cleared and are now acceptable, reports Weather Officer Kathy Winters. The forecast has not changed, with chance of acceptable conditions remaining at 40 percent for launch time this morning.
Also, the launch team completed fueling the three core boosters of the Delta IV Heavy and pumps are now in trickle mode meaning they will top off the tanks as the countdown moves ahead and a small amount of the cryogenic propellants boil off.
We are about to witness one of man’s greatest hours, as we once again reach for the Heavens.
I hope that things are placed on the outside of the manned capsules, to remember those we have lost in the exploration of space. A name here, a number there…the mission patch next to the door. Little things, so we never forget.

We’re out here on the West Coast with high hopes and an American Pride waiting for NASA to return to flight status. Orion looks awesome sitting all pearched on her Delta tower. I have been waiting for this since my last visit to the Cape in 2010. Thanks to NASA and all of Contractors to return us to flight! Pumped and waiting…and Go for Launch!
