12 May 2010: Day 8 Status Update
The expedition is on its way again, with the goal of reaching the coast of Cornwallis Island today. The heavy snowfall will slow down the expedition but the crew members are happy to be on the move again. Weather conditions are slowly improving and the crew is very optimistic for the sea-ice crossing. After an evening check-in, the crew reports making some progress today.
11 May 2010: Day 7 Status Update
The Northwest Passage Drive Expedition continues to be on hold due to weather conditions, with large amounts of snowfall that has reduced visibility to less than one mile. The team continues to hold their position and wait until the weather and visibility improve.
Hello,
I am a student fascinated by the planet Mars and the possibilities of life on it. I am curious if it is possible to build a greenhouse on Mars that can develop vegetation. By building a greenhouse that is strong enough to withstand the powerful dust storms and extreme temperatures, could we start life on Mars? Because plants thrive on carbon dioxide and Mars’s atmosphere mainly consists of carbon dioxide, plant life would be sure to survive with proper tend and care in the beginning stages. I am curious about this project and would be more than thankful for a reply. Please share with me your knowledge about Mars and how I could fulfill this idea in the future.
Hope to hear from you soon.
